Pinsperation {1948}

By 1948 we had lost that post-WWII military style and were full on new look.

Women wanted a feminine form with flattering tea length skirts and dresses.

But pants and shorts took on a classier look as well.

Casual day dresses although still had the beauty of decades past, had the wonderful shape to flatter any woman's figure.

The more I see of new look, the more I become a fan of it. Yes, I am betraying my love for the war years, but only a little.

  1. Thank you for these lovely summer(y) images, dear.
    Today I quite need them, since I'm a bit blue. These put a smile on my face.

  2. I absolutely love the new look. Don't get me wrong, the WWII look is still my favorite, but the new look is so figure flattering. I think it looks great on pretty much any body type. I sooo want that green checkered skirt!

  3. Reminds me of "Miss Rose White" and the fashions in that movie. I so wish that "The Magic of Ordinary Days," sequel had turned out because they might have dressed Livvie like that.

    1. Oh, two of my favorite films!!! I truly wish they would. Keri Russel would rock new look fashion.

  4. Put me down for one of everything, pretty, pretty please!!! Goodness, how late 40s styles like - bursting as these were with femininity and charm - make me go weak in the knees.
