Sew For Victory {Update}

No, normally I don't like to do more than one post in a day, but I guess if I don't do it now I'll just forget about it.

I have to drop out of the Sew for Victory sew a long. I screwed up my fabric and for me it's too late to start another project. {Because apparently I'm the world's slowest seamstress.} I probably should have known better than to join a sewing challenge as I learn how to sew.

Oh, well, I guess I should just chalk it up as a lesson learned! I'm just glad I didn't waste any money on material and used some left overs for the blouse.

But boy do I feel stupid over this. :-/

    1. I'm feeling better about it this morning. Like I said, it's a lesson learned. I'll try and do better next time. Thanks!

  2. That's a pity! I'm a slow sewer too, and it's also one of the reasons I don't participate in sewalongs that much (Sew for Victory being my first).

    1. I don't know if I'll join another one. Unless I'm the one in charge of it. LOL! That way I'll make it 6 months so I am safe.

  3. I'm sure you did far better than I would have. Don't give up. Keep at it and once you do get the hang of it, you'll have this beautiful garment. Nothing great ever comes easy.

    1. I dunno, I did a really silly thing. I am definitely not going to create that dress right away. However, I may want to make a circle skirt or two. Maybe some blouses before I attempt something big like a vintage dress.

  4. I'm sorry that your project didn't work out. It's really easy to make all sorts of silly mistakes, so don't be too hard on yourself. I'm sure that with a little more practice you'll find yourself attempting this pattern again in no time and meet with success!

    1. I am feeling better about it after my Mom said she made the same mistake when she first started. So I am a bit more confident that I know what I did wrong and to make sure I don't do it again. LOL! Thanks for the encouraging words, Inky!

  5. Awww, honey, don't beat yourself up. It's totally ok - that could happen to anyone. Nothing ventured, as they say.
