Pin up Yourself

Recently vintage blogger Constantly Alice did a post in her Pin up Plan Series of creating pin up cartoons. You can too by using Doll Divine's Pinup Maker Deluxe

It is quite addictive.

Here are some of mine. I tried to do one for each decade from the 30's to the 70's.

I hope you have as much fun with it as I have. And like Constantly Alice, post some of your creations to my wall just for fun.

What I've been up to

SOTH is my novel set in 1840's Indiana.
First off, I appreciate those who were so great as to follow me on this blog. It now just seems to fit that I use this blog for my obsession with all things vintage and my love affair with writing. I love writing historical pieces, mainly WWII era. But I digress, you'll find out much more about that stuff as we continue with the post.

Last week my Mom's baby sister, Della, went to be with the Lord. She was too young to leave us, and struggled most of her life with her kidney's which caused her to go on dialysis. It's been hitting Mom hard of course since she just lost her husband {our Dad} almost two months ago. Life has been pretty much a blur. We're now trying to find our normalcy again. At least with our Aunt, we know she's no longer suffering and no longer has to endure her struggles anymore.

About three weeks ago, I went under the knife. For about a year and a half to two years I had no idea my gallbladder was giving me problems. I also didn't know your gallbladder would just go kaput either. But mine did. Apparently the normal functioning is 35% or more, mine was 16%. So it's out and I'm still looking forward to feeling better. Now I have these rather disturbing indention's on my stomach where the incisions are. I'm told they'll lessen with time, but wow they look just weird.

Between all the loss in the family lately and my surgery/recover period I haven't been doing a whole lot of writing. I probably haven't written much in two months. I hate that. I know I need to get cracking on it and I don't have much more to go to polish up this draft. I dunno. I'm hoping next month I'll have more time to write. I've missed it. It really helps me to unwind and it's very therapeutic. Because with all that has been going on, it feels like life is some kind of whirlwind and when I write I can control the situations, conversations, people. Weird as it is, I like knowing there's something that I know the outcome of.
