Yup you know the old saying, “Never judge a book by it’s cover…” aren’t we all a little guilty of this? And no I don’t mean people, I mean the actual books. You see something on the shelf and automatically you are attracted to the cover, the design is so nice that you just have to pick it up and start reading it. Only to find out as you delve deeper into the first chapter that it’s so predictable and glazed over with ridiculous characters that you walk away feeling absolutely nothing. It was just like everything else out there. A pretty cover, with a shallow and empty within.

Or it’s the polar opposite, you see a book and the cover looks like it had a stupid cover that looks like something out of a Disney cartoon. Though, you decided to pick it up anyway and end up enchanted by an actual interesting and amazing story that leaves an impact on you.

I’ve been there. Lately when I see a book and I am drawn to the cover I don’t bother to pick it up I just walk away and when I take a glance at the silly book cover I decide to read the back cover and by golly there is a book that looks promising. Many people use the saying “Never judge a book by it’s cover…” for everyday life when meeting and encountering people during their day. Though I think we could all use this saying the next time we go to browse the book shelves.

  1. Ain't that the truth! Some books with the cheesiest covers make the best novels. On the flip side, some of the books with the best covers make for the cheesiest novels.
